hello! we are ally weir and innes mackintosh, two pals from fort william.

we had talked for years about forming a band together, so in late 2023 we started writing and recording songs in our bedrooms – the result was abrach.

we have a shared love of highland trad music, classic rock and alt/indie, and we wanted to create music that combined all these elements while examining modern life in the highlands.

our goal was initially to write enough material to play a gig in fort william, but over time, the thing grew arms and legs, and we are now at the point where we have an album’s worth of songs.

all our music was recorded at home on simple equipment, but we have been fortunate enough to have keith morrison from the wee studio mix and master our tracks, and generally provide wisdom and support!
